The Embassy of China in Côte d'Ivoire has celebrated in the evening of 28 September at Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire, the 66th anniversary of the National Day of the People’s Republic of China. At the solemn opening of this ceremony, there were the representatives of the Ivorian government, of the political parties and military staff, of the accredited ambassador in Côte d'Ivoire, as well as Chinese companies in Côte d'Ivoire and the Chinese residents in Africa. Representing the President of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, Mr Moussa Dosso, State Minister, Minister of Employment and Social Affairs, has celebrated with all the Chinese. At this occasion, an award was remitted to the Chinese company CGC and its French provider SAM-GOBAIN by the Chinese ambassador in Côte d'Ivoire Mr TANG Weibin and Minister Moossa Dosso. Both companies have been awarded the medal of “Tripartite Cooperation for the Well-being of the Population”, for their contribution in the project of drinking water supply in the South of Abidjan from the groundwater of Sud Comoé - Phase I(Bonoua water supply project - Phase I).
The director of CGC-CI, Mr ZHANG Minghui, has expressed his gratefulness in such terms: “Ladies and Gentlemen, I first would like to thank the Ivorian and Chinese government for their trust and support they granted us. I would also like to commend the efforts of all the staff members committed in such projects: the Chinese and Ivorian employees, our partners, and the residents in the areas involved in this project, thank you for your precious collaboration. I would, in the name of CGC, like to assure you that CGC shall rigorously meet its commitment in Bonoua water supply project - Phase II in due time in order to improve the drinking water supply for the population of Abidjan and in the surrounding regions.”
After the ceremony, Accompanied by Ambassador TANG Weibin, Minister Moossa Dosso has visited the exhibition stand of CGC’s projects. The deputy director of CGC-CI Mr HOU Zhulin presented them the projects in the fields of drinking water supply, roads, bridges, farms development, buildings, etc. The Minister has discussed with Mr HOU about the advancement of the project in the different water source regions, treatment facilities, water pressure booster stations and pipelines, as well as the life condition of the population benefiting from the project. He explained that Bonoua water supply project was the most important project in terms of improving the well being of the population, and it would make great influence in Côte d'Ivoire. In the end, he thanked the efforts of the Chinese government and of company CGC in order to solve the problem of the drinking water deficit in the city of Abidjan.
